What this policy covers
This policy covers wonderfultools.net and the personal data of:
- people who visit the website;
- anyone who contacts us through the contact form, by email or by phone;
- business and press contacts.
Our apps
This policy doesn't cover our apps. Each app has its own privacy policy, published on its own website and on its App Store and Google Play listings.
What we collect
- When you visit the website
- Netlify, which hosts the website, records each request in its server logs: your IP address, your browser's user agent, the pages you request and the time.
- When you use the contact form
- Your name, your email address, the topic you choose, your message and the language of the page you sent it from. We need your name, email address and message to answer you. To check the message for spam, Akismet also receives your IP address.
- When you email us
- Your email address and everything your email contains, attachments included, when you write to contact@wonderfultools.net.
- When you phone us
- Your phone number and what you tell us, when you call +1 307-227-4983.
What the website doesn't use
The website uses no cookies, no analytics, no local storage and no third-party scripts, so it doesn't track you. Its fonts are hosted on the website itself, so loading a page sends no request to any other website.
Why we use it
We use personal data only for these purposes. Each has a legal basis under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, which protect people in the EU and the UK.
- Running the website and keeping it secure
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a website that works and is protected against abuse. This is what the server logs are for.
- Answering your message
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us, or, when you write about a possible agreement with us, taking the steps you ask for before entering into it.
- Keeping spam out of the contact form
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in receiving only genuine messages.
- Handling privacy requests
- Legal basis: our legal obligations under data protection law.
Who processes it for us
These service providers process personal data on our behalf, only to provide their services to us:
- Netlify
- Netlify, Inc., United States. Hosts the website, keeps its server logs and receives contact-form messages.
- Akismet
- Automattic Inc., United States. Checks contact-form messages for spam, for Netlify.
- SendGrid
- Twilio Inc., United States. Emails each contact-form message to us, for Netlify.
- Namecheap Private Email
- Namecheap, Inc., United States. Hosts our mailbox, where emails and contact-form messages reach us.
We don't sell personal data, and we share it with no one else unless the law requires us to.
International transfers
Wonderful Tools and all its providers are based in the United States, where your personal data is mainly processed. Some providers also use servers in other countries. For personal data from the EU and the UK, each provider's own terms set out these safeguards:
- Netlify
- Netlify is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension. Its data processing agreement relies on them, and on standard contractual clauses or their UK equivalent if they stop applying.
- Akismet
- Standard contractual clauses, which Akismet includes in its data processing addendum.
- SendGrid
- Twilio is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension. Its data processing addendum relies on them, and on standard contractual clauses or their UK equivalent if they stop applying.
- Namecheap Private Email
- For data from the EU: standard contractual clauses, which Namecheap includes in its data processing addendum.
To find out more about these safeguards, write to contact@wonderfultools.net.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages
- We keep messages you send us through the contact form or by email, and any notes we make of phone calls, for 24 months. We delete older ones once a year.
- Server logs
- Netlify keeps them according to its own retention rules, which we don't control.
